Localite Concept

The concept behind Localite is site specific social-media book-marking. The goal is to create a system that favors site specificity and distributed content rather than aggregate and non-local media. Sites such as Facebook or Digg.com take vast amounts of content and congeal it in one non-local anonymous place. Whereas the content of Localite is tied to one physical unique location. The content can only be accessed and posted by being in front of one of the specified localite sites in the real world. Once at this site one uses the camera of their mobile device to either view or upload social media content that has happened in or around their town. Localite connects you with other members of your community and allows you to become an explorer in your own backyard.
